Paragliding Area Macau Duo in West Sumatra, Indonesia, is a great spot for adventure seekers.

The place has improved facilities, including a prayer room and bathroom on the upper floor. Getting there is easy, with good access for cars reaching the top.

At the summit, there’s a designated take-off point for paragliding, and you’ll find several picturesque spots for taking stunning photos.

The sunrise view from this elevation is breathtaking, with Mount Marapi visible even from a distance.

This venue offers the best paragliding and gliding experiences in West Sumatra, boasting an elevation of 1250 meters above sea level.

The air is crisp and refreshing, providing ideal wind conditions for a thrilling adventure.

You’ll be treated to panoramic views of the beautiful Singkarak area, surrounded by the Bukit Barisan mountain range, Lake Singkarak, and Mount Merapi.

The landing area is conveniently located on the lakeside. Although the road to the top and some public facilities are currently under repair, the overall experience is well worth it.

Paragliding enthusiasts and nature lovers will find this spot perfect for a rejuvenating getaway.

    2. Lereng Green View

Location: Jorong Koto Baru, Tj. Alai, Kec. X Koto Singkarak, Kabupaten Solok, Sumatera Barat 27355, Indonesia

Taking a motorcycle trip to Green View Slopes is totally worth it! The road to the peak is smooth and paved, making the journey enjoyable.

Once you reach the top, the view of Lake Singkarak is absolutely awesome.

For the best experience, it’s recommended to visit on a clear day when the weather allows for a crystal-clear view of the surrounding mountains and lake.

This spot is perfect for camping and soaking in the evening breeze.

While there is an entrance fee (I can’t recall the exact amount), it’s a small price to pay for the beauty you’ll witness.

This place is a family favorite, especially in the afternoon when the scenery is at its most beautiful. You can set up camp here with ease.

The atmosphere is fantastic, and you’ll find clean bathrooms, a prayer room, and even a cafe on-site.

If you’re longing to enjoy the stunning views of Lake Singkarak from an elevated perspective, Green View Slopes is the place to be.

Situated between Solok and Padang Panjang, it’s easily accessible from both cities, just 56 km from Bukittinggi, 38 km from Padang Panjang, and a mere 18 km from Solok.

The route along the edge of Lake Singkarak offers picturesque scenery through the charming village of Kacang and the natural hills.

Once you arrive at Green View Slopes, you’ll be greeted by an extraordinary natural panorama, with Lake Singkarak stretching out before you.

The area is reminiscent of Puncak Lawang, which overlooks Lake Maninjau. Take advantage of the cafe to savor coffee and snacks while enjoying the view.

The management has also set up photo spots for visitors. The spacious location allows for camping, and on certain days, you can even partake in paragliding activities.

The best part? You only need to pay for parking, giving you the freedom to enjoy this stunning view at no additional cost.

The cafe offers delicious and affordable food, making it an all-around fantastic destination.

    3. Taman Wisata Tanjung Paranginan

Location: Singkarak, X Koto Singkarak, Solok Regency, West Sumatra 27351, Indonesia

One of the captivating and beautiful landscape spots along Jalan Singkarak towards Sulit Air Village is the tiered rice fields with Lake Singkarak beneath them.

This is a tourist attraction and a perfect place for all friends who want to go on vacation and enjoy the beauty of Lake Singkarak. The view is simply stunning and completely natural.

    4. Panorama Tanjung Alai

Location: Jalan Panorama, Tj. Alai, Kec. X Koto Singkarak, Kabupaten Solok, Sumatera Barat 27356, Indonesia

The Tanjung Alai Panorama offers stunning views from the height of Ampaneh Peak, showcasing the beauty of Singkarak Lake, Papan Mountain, Tri Arga, Talang Mountain, Barisan Hill, and more.

Additionally, there’s a Dutch defensive fort located about 100 meters from this panoramic spot.

The view is exceptionally beautiful, especially as it stretches over Lake Singkarak from an elevated perspective.

It’s an ideal place to appreciate the afternoon sunset and the overall scenery of Lake Singkarak.

However, despite the beauty of the place, the local authorities have not managed it well.

The parking area is quite small, making visitors, especially those with four-wheel vehicles, hesitant to stop by.

Nevertheless, the coolness of the spot remains regardless of the time you choose to visit.

Whenever I gaze at this lake, I feel a sense of amazement and curiosity about its depth, even imagining scenes from movies with underwater work—quite fascinating!

I highly recommend it for anyone on holiday in West Sumatra. The location of the toilets is easily accessible.

    5. Puncak Pas Lake Singkarak

Location: Batu Taba, South Batipuh, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, Indonesia

Enjoy a fantastic view and embark on a challenging journey to the top of Puncak Pas. Be cautious as the road can be slippery and sharp.

Puncak Pas is situated near Lake Singkarak, and its panorama highlights the beauty of the lake.

While Lake Singkarak is the main attraction in this area, don’t forget to explore the Puncak Pas panorama when you visit Singkarak.

Puncak Pas is approximately 3 km away from Ombilin Market, heading towards Solok City. For parking, you can either park your vehicle at local homes or roadside stalls near Lake Singkarak.

Motorbike parking costs Rp 5,000, and car parking costs Rp 10,000.

Alternatively, you can park at the abandoned train tracks as the trains have not been in operation for a long time, ensuring a safe parking space.

    6. Puncak Putaran Angin

Location: Jorong Payo Nagari, Batipuh Baruah, South Batipuh District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra 27265, Indonesia

Named “Puncak Payo Putaran Angin” because the wind here blows so briskly that it feels like you might take flight!

From the summit of this hill, visitors can delight in the beauty of Lake Singkarak and the refreshing mountain air.

The name “Puncak Payo Putaran Angin” is aptly given due to the strong winds that make you feel as if you’re about to take off!

This peak is the perfect spot to savor the entire panorama of Lake Singkarak as it occupies the most strategic position with an unobstructed view.

Moreover, on a clear day, you’ll be treated to the breathtaking sight of Bukit Barisan, leaving you in awe.

Once again, on a clear day, you’ll be enchanted by the stunning views of Bukit Barisan.

It provides a unique perspective of Lake Singkarak, different from the more mainstream spots. The morning is the ideal time to witness the lake’s beauty.

With its picturesque scenery and refreshing breezes, Puncak Payorapuih brings a sense of calm, peace, and serenity to the heart and mind.

The view from the peak is breathtaking, allowing you to take in the entirety of Lake Singkarak, with the nearby Merapi and Singgalang Terilah mountains adding to the scenic charm.

There’s also a reservoir towards the top, making it a suitable spot for camping. While the road to the location is asphalted, be prepared for a somewhat steep slope.

The view here is absolutely stunning and breathtaking, offering fantastic photo opportunities despite the cleanliness being somewhat lacking.

The road access is a bit narrow, making it less suitable for four-wheel vehicles, but private cars can manage with a bit of patience.

It’s an excellent spot for motorbike enthusiasts and hikers alike. Nestled in the hills overlooking Lake Singkarak, the panorama is truly beautiful.

There are numerous spots with creative decorations perfect for fun and unique photos against the backdrop of Lake Singkarak.

Additionally, paragliding is available here. The parking facilities are quite sufficient, and there are plenty of snack vendors around.

The peak itself boasts beautiful views of the lake, making it a source of pride for the people of Solok Regency, especially those in the vicinity of Lake Singkarak, known for its bilih fish.

As for culinary options, you need not worry, as there are numerous food stalls available in the area.
